I count myself among the people in my life, friends and family, that are asking God to move in their lives and they are waiting.  Everything from people needing surgery and waiting on an opening, marriages that seem to be falling apart, and just being discontent in the way that the world and our country are headed.  There are more, but I think you all understand what I’m talking about.

I have prayed for things in the past that I thought for sure God was going to work in my favor.  I was absolutely positive that elections could not possibly go how they did, I was for sure and for certain my daddy’s cancer would be healed, I couldn’t believe it when a beloved pastor from my youth chose the wrong path.  There are things people.  Believe me, there are things.

We all have stuff.

Some of us feel as if we have been praying for years, some for only days.  Somehow, we all start out believing that what we want is what God wants.  Sometimes it is.  Sometimes we have no clue that what God wants is better and until we are neck deep in the miracle, we then look back and say, “Oh, well look at that”.

You all know me by now.  Worship leader!  So of course, like a friend of mine that always tells me she has a book for that, I have a song for that.  Kristene DiMarco came out with a song about six years ago that ministered to me so deeply.  It is called Take Courage.  I’m going to give you all the lyrics.  I hope it blesses you as it did me.

Hold on!  He is in the waiting!

Slow down, take time, Breath in He said

He’d reveal what’s to come

The thoughts in His mind, Always higher than mine

He’ll reveal all to come

Take courage my heart,Stay steadfast my soul

He’s in the waiting, He’s in the waiting

Hold onto your hope, As your triumph unfolds

He’s never failing, He’s never failing

Sing praise my soul, Find strength in joy

Let His Words lead you on

Do not forget, His great faithfulness

He’ll finish all He’s begun

Chorus

And You who hold the stars

Who call them each by name

Will surely keep Your promise to me

That I will rise in Your victory
