“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,”  –The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

 

What does all this mean?  It means that we Americans,  are blessed.  We are blessed that our nation was founded on faith.  That our legal system is based on biblical laws and principals.  That we have the right to worship God whenever and wherever we want to. 

 

So in the midst of the fireworks and BBQ’s this year, let us take a moment to celebrate that! 

 

Let this day serve as a reminder to us that not all countries have that freedom.  Right now, as you are reading this, Christians around the world are being ridiculed, persecuted, and even killed for their faith in Jesus Christ.  Yet we have the right to worship Him and speak of Him anytime and anywhere we’d like.

 

But are we?

 

This 4th of July, I encourage you to make it your goal to not take this freedom for granted.  To speak of Him every chance you get.  To publicly praise Him every chance you get.  Sure, some will oppose.  And sometimes those voices of opposition seem louder.  But that’s all the more reason to speak out.  Let our praises be heard throughout the land.  Let the boldness of our faith and the love of our Father shine through us and spread through our nation like wildfire.  

 

God assures us in 2 Chronicles 7:14:  “If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (KJV)

 

Praise God!  God Bless America!
