May your heart be as full as your plate today. Nothing is more honorable than a grateful heart.

Dear God, thank you for the gift of each new day. You are the source of all good things. Thank you for believing in me, I can’t imagine where I would be today without your support. Your love endures forever. When I started counting my blessings my whole life turned around.

What about giving thanks when life is difficult. It’s easy to be grateful when everything is going well. But what about when things are falling apart?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Paul wrote this from prison and constant hardship. Yet he told us to give thanks in all circumstances. We don’t thank God for the pain or struggle. We can thank Him in it- for his presence, His promises, and His faithfulness even when we can’t see the outcome.

We can say God I don’t understand this , but I’m grateful for the people you’ve placed around me. I’m grateful that You see me and You haven’t forgotten me. We need to practice gratitude even in the hard places, trusting God is with us through it all.

However, while we should be thankful today, let us NOT forget the giving part. Maybe that food bag in your mailbox , time spent with those in need. No act is too small or meaningless, whether it’s a phone call, a smile or a simple wave, a visit. All these acts can be as appreciated as a frozen turkey. It is a day for sharing. We share memories, special moments with loved ones and also our favorite recipes.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. We all celebrate it, we all give thanks. Thanksgiving belongs to all of us. And everyone has something to be thankful for, no matter who we are. That’s why I love Thanksgiving. I can’t help but feel gratitude and love for all that I have, all that I am blessed with. We give, we share, we laugh, we eat, and we take the time to express gratitude and love for all we have. We come together with family and friends to celebrate. Sometimes we get so busy in our daily lives that we forget to really express how grateful and blessed we are.

In 1621 after the Pilgrims had a very harsh winter and food scarcity, they held a 3-day feast because of their 1st great harvest. We need to celebrate and appreciate our many blessings. Thanksgiving didn’t become a national holiday until 1863 during the Civil War. Lincoln proclaimed a day of “Thanksgiving and Praise “ to foster unity, and a generous feast. We could use some help with this today.

Despite our differences, we can find comfort in each others company as we navigate through life. I am so thankful for God’s unfailing love and His ability to rescue us when we call on Him.God will lead us out of our wilderness and into a place of safety and rest. How can we not be SO Thankful? He always satisfies our spiritual needs with good things. He fills us up, always providing. He is everything we need to thrive and grow. I give Thanks to Jesus for His unfailing Love. It is constant.  By cultivating a spirit of Thankfulness and recognition the abundance of God’s provision in our lives, we can find true contentment and satisfaction in Him.

Thanksgiving isn’t just about the big blessings- it’s about recognizing God’s presence in the small, ordinary moments. Give Thanks for all God has done.

Ephesians 5:20

“Always give thanks to God the Father for EVERYTHING, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ..”

This is a powerful reminder to always have a thankful heart in all circumstances as a reflection of our faith in God.

Thank You Lord, for the blessings you have given us. You have provided us with more than we could ever have imagined. You have surrounded me with loving people who always look out for me. You have given me family and friends who bless me every day with kind words and actions. They lift me up in ways that keep my eyes focused on you and make my spirit soar. Also Lord thank you for keeping me safe. You protect me from things that seem to haunt others. You help me make better choices and provide me with people to help me with life’s difficult decisions. You speak to me in so many ways so that I always know you are here. And Lord I am so grateful for you keeping those around me safe and loved. I pray that you provide me with the ability and sense to show them every day how much they matter. I pray that you give me the ability and sense to show them every day how much they matter. Please give me the ability to give to them the same kindness they have provided to me. I am extremely grateful for all of your blessings in my life. I pray that I am always reminded of just how blessed I am and that you never allow me to forget to show my gratitude in prayer and return acts of kindness.

Thank you Father
